The AYA Network for Postcolonial and Decolonial Studies is collectively designed and aims to build, produce, circulate and disseminate plural knowledge projects, based on the inseparability of research, teaching and extension, a triad that underpins academic and teacher training. 

In this sense, the AYA Network seeks to think and build – from the dialog with plural people, in the relationship between theory and reflected practice – liberating and emancipating knowledge in an epistemological and political stance to combat epistemicide (bell hooks, 2013; CARNEIRO, 2005) and the historicide constitutive of the necropolitical project (MBEMBE, 2018).

General Objective

To bring together international and national researchers, artivists and members of social movements committed to transdisciplinary work in the field of social sciences and humanities, with the aim of fostering, developing and strengthening academic and political teaching, research and extension actions committed to a decolonized interpretation anchored in the perspective of postcolonial, decolonial, Afro-diasporic and indigenous studies.
